In partnership with NC State University and Penn State, Central Carolina Community College offers a Microelectronics and Nanomanufacturing Certificate that can help students get high-paying jobs in semiconductor or biotechnology manufacturing.

Josh Szajko, a U.S. Air Force veteran, recently graduated from the certificate program — and was the first of its inaugural cohort to secure a position working in industry. In the video below, Szajko says that even though he came in without a strong technical background, the program helped him “bridge the gap” — providing the hands-on experience needed to land the job he was “most interested in.”

“This program will give you the hands-on and technical knowledge necessary to be competitive in this workforce,” Szajko says.
